Noa and Leah: Victims of the Same Jihad

Second JNS column on jihad in Africa

The second installment of our JNS series has been published; this time a moving juxtaposition of the plights of two slaves.

Everybody now knows the face of Noa Argamani, the Israeli hostage kidnapped on October 7 and then heroically rescued on June 8 — but very few know of Leah Sharibu, kidnapped and later enslaved by Boko Haram in 2018.

As it turned out, the “civilians” holding Noa prisoner had enslaved her as well, demonstrating something the media never mention: Africans and Jews are victims of the same jihad which has lasted since the seventh century.

Read Ben Poser’s powerful article here.

This publication comes on the heels of the African Jewish Alliance’s triumphant press conference in Chicago which united black and white Christian clergy, rabbis, and African activists from Mauritania, Nigeria, and South Sudan. The press conference was led by Alderman Raymond Lopez, who agreed to introduce the AJA’s groundbreaking anti-jihad resolution.

Our Jewish organizational partners, StandWithUs and the Simon Wiesenthal Center, are trying to get resolutions like ours introduced in city council chambers across America.
