Arab Speaker at the DNC Planned This Nearly 35 Years Ago

How Arab anti-Semites took over the Democratic Party

On the second day of the 2024 Democratic National Convention, a panel was held to discuss “Palestinian human rights.” Among the panelists was James Zogby, the head of the Arab American Institute.

Zogby has been a behind-the-scenes force in Democratic politics for more than 40 years, starting when he was a consultant to Jesse Jackson’s failed 1984 presidential campaign. But, despite anti-Israel rumblings in the party increasing massively over the last 15 years, only now has supporting Israel’s mortal enemies become an official Democrat priority.

How did the Palestinian “cause” become center-stage in leftist politics?

The answer to this question partially lies in an obscure television interview. This rare footage, shot around 1990, shows Zogby in conversation with Dr. Walid Muhammad al-Sadi of Jordanian state television’s English-language division.

In the video, Zogby proudly details his strategies for turning American public opinion against Israel and in favor of the Palestinians. His vision, based upon the KGB’s model for anti-Zionist propaganda, involved re-framing jihad against Jews in secular, nice-sounding terms like “national liberation.”

He goes forth to talk about the work he did in the 1980s of creating coalitions between American Arabs, blacks, Latinos, white progressives, and — crucially — leftist Jews.

Through this strategy, non-Arab Americans could be persuaded that the “oppression” of the Palestinians is “theirs,” and too.

He succeeded partially because non-Marxist Democrats and leftist Jewish leaders let this happen.

Today, Zogby has reached the end of Palestinianists’ long march through the leftist institutions.
